Puppy Pound
August 29, 2019
Thank you so much for coming out to Curriculum Night! Again, if you have any questions, please reach out to me! Sorry this newsletter is a little light, but being gone 2 days for training and a school improvement day didn't give me much opportunity to capture all of the learning going on!
Phonics and literacy stations
We brought out the Playdoh and had the children make the alphabet saying the name and the sounds and then show me what words they could make,,,
...and then I left them have some fun. How can you not play with Playdoh????
Math
We are working on number bonds--breaking up a whole number into 2 parts. Part + Part = Whole. Then we are writing the equations or number sentence that goes with the number bond. We are also working on all the ways to make 5, 6 and 7.
Reader's workshop
An anchor chart was made to show the expectations of what reading to yourself looks like. We are emphasizing staying in one spot and reading the books that are in your reading bag.
Top Dog: Keegan
Keegan"s favorite animal is a turtle. He loves to eat noodles. He is pawsome at playing Pokemon and riding his scooter. When he grows up, he wants to be a vet!
