Morning Music Selection of the Week at HES!
"In the Hall of the Mountain King" is a piece of orchestral music composed by Edvard Grieg in 1875 as music for the play Peer Gynt.
The piece is played as Peer Gynt enters the troll Mountain King's hall". The scene's introduction continues: "There is a great crowd of trolls, gnomes and goblins. Dovregubben sits on his throne, with crown and sceptre, surrounded by his children and relatives. Peer Gynt stands before him.
The music is part of a “suite” or group of pieces of music that follow the action in the play Peer Gynt. The music is based on the folk tales of the country where Grieg was born, and is one of the best-known tunes from the suite.
The question this week is:
In which Scandinavian country was Edvard Grieg born?
Answers to Mr. Roberts by Wednesday.
Two bubbles/water drops will be given for a correct answer.
Lifetouch will be back to take fall picture 'MAKE-UPS' on Tuesday, November 14th
