Cohasset High School Newsletter
News and Happenings at Cohasset High School
October 16, 2020
Dear Families,
Welcome to the Back to School edition of the newsletter. Unfortunately the pandemic prevents us from gathering in person, but over the course of the next week teachers across the district will be communicating many of the same things that they would at our Back to School Night Open House. Our opportunity to share will be next Friday, October 23rd.
Below are some introductory comments from me, and some remarks from our very important partners at the Cohasset Education Foundation, the Parent School Organization, and the Safe Harbor Coalition.
Enjoy!
Sincerely,
Brian T. Scott

A Message from the Cohasset Education Foundation
Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year from the Cohasset Education Foundation. We are proud to have given over $1.4 million to our school systems! We work with those who recognize that excellence in public education is essential to the social and economic fabric of our community. Every Fall and Spring, we work to fund grants written by our teachers that strive to keep our public schools as competitive as possible. Programs like yoga in the classroom and outdoor educational gardens, devices like Google augmented reality devices, and remote learning support like Lexia licences and Chromebooks are just a taste of the grants we have given back at the elementary, middle, and high school level. Otherwise known as the CEF, we are a board of parent volunteers who raise funds throughout the year through contributions from residents, businesses and private enterprises. This year, with your help, we are ready to rise to the challenge to keep our public schools as competitive as possible given the times. Look for fun, creative ways we will be fundraising this year. You might see our name on a coffee cup or two around town! Make sure to follow us on our social media pages and if you are new to the district, please contact Kristin Quinn (kqsales@gmail.com) or Meaghan Barry (meaghbarry@gmail.com) so that we can get you a welcome gift bag, courtesy of the CEF.
STAY SAFE CPS!

A Message from the PSO
As our children return to classrooms that look different this year, the Cohasset PSO remains committed to working with Cohasset families and the Cohasset School District to fulfill our mission to enrich and enhance the educational experience of our students. Last year, we provided the Cohasset High School with over $11,000 in programs and resources including sponsoring Challenge Day and awarding CHS a grant for a new hydration station. This year we are busy planning how we can continue to support our families in safe and creative ways. Please be on the lookout for future emails from us with more details. You can always reach out to us with any questions, concerns or suggestions. The Cohasset High School PSO liaison is Dima Omran, dimao@cohassetpso.org.

2020 Yearbooks Have Arrived!
Parents of students in the class of 2020 (or members if home) may pick up their yearbooks on Wednesday, October 21st from 9-12. These will be distributed at the main doors outside. Those will have to be signed for as well. Should the weather not cooperate we will reschedule to a different day. All students are remote Wednesday so there will be minimal disruption in the building.
If someone is a sibling of a student from the class of 2020 currently attending CHS they may pick it up from the main office as well.
New Online Meal Ordering System
Dear Cohasset Families,
We are happy to announce our new online meals ordering system. This will allow parents/guardians to order student meals for both the days that students are in school and the days they are remote learners.
Meals are available for order Monday-Friday for all students at no charge currently. Meals must be ordered before 8:00 am for that day. We encourage those who wish to order meals to set up accounts now to start using the system.
All parents/guardians must set up an account before ordering meals. The website for this is https://onlineordering.linq.com/
After you have set up your account, to order meals, simply go to the district website, www.cohassetk12.org and click on the menu tab at the top of the page (next to the calendar tab is a fork and knife and reads “Menu”). This will bring you to the nutrition site.
- Click on menus at the top, and then select your students’ school. (Joseph Osgood and Deer Hill have the same menu).
- Once the menu is open, click the online ordering button.
- Please choose the pick-up location for the student:
- For the days students are in school, select “cafeteria”
- For the days they are remote, select “remote pick-up”
- Meal pick-up for remote learners all grades is at Cohasset Middle/High School, behind the building at the loading dock, Monday-Friday from 12:00-1:00.
