Sunflower JCPRD News

January 2016

Happy New Year!!

Please help welcome our new Afternoon Lead teacher, Barbara Biondo. Barbara comes to us from Moonlight JCPRD. Please say hi to her sometime.

Please help your child make sure he/she has a coat, hat, gloves for cool weather and appropriate shoes for going outside or to the gym. Tennis shoes really allow your child to participate in every activity we plan! We will go outside most days during the winter, even if it is just for 10 minutes. Please bring snow boots for play in snow.

Don't forget to follow @JCPRDGardnerOST on Twitter for up-to-date emergency closing procedures as well as pictures of your kids in action in our Out of School TIme program!

2015 Child Care Tax Statements

Our JCPRD Registration Office will be e-mailing your 2015 child care expense report to you the week of January 4-8, 2016. Please check your inbox this week for that information as well as your SPAM folder in case it gets stuck there. Thank you.

For claiming Child and Dependent Care Tax Credits, the Johnson County Park and Recreation District's Tax Identification Number (TIN) is 48-6090320.

    Getting Healthy Information

We know that kids who eat healthier and move more perform better in school. It's not just because teachers and administrators tell us so. Research shows that healthy kids get better grades, attend school more often and behave better in class.

Experts recommend that kids get 60 minutes of physical activity every day. These minutes can come before, during, or after school as long as kids are staying active and having fun!

Just want to remind everyone that we are unable to offer care on snow days!

    Parent Handbook

Please make sure that you read over the parent handbook for our mission statement, goals, program description, hours, costs, holidays, payment schedule, and policy statements.

Play Park at New Century Fieldhouse

Know anyone with younger kids? Stay at home moms? In home daycares? JCPRD has an indoor play park at New Century Fieldhouse in the morning during the week. This is a great place for young ones to get some energy out when it is cold out.
