Pillar 6: Advisor Development
GASC Advisor Conference
This year GASC is partnering with the Carl Vinson Institute, Fanning
Leadership Institute and the Georgia Center at the University of Georgia to
bring you our best conference yet!
This event is for Advisors Only! The conference will begin Friday evening
(September 16th) and conclude on Saturday afternoon (September 17th).
Registration is just $125 and covers your meals (dinner Fri., breakfast &
lunch Sat.) and all your programming. We will have sessions for new
advisors as well as sessions for more experienced advisors. There will
also be guest speakers from the Carl Vinson Institute that will be leading
sessions on Robert's Rules, Public Speaking, and Constituent Services that
we can use to better train our students.
For your convenience we have booked a block of rooms at the Georgia Center
for our conference. These rooms will be held up to 4 weeks prior to the
event date. The rate is $99.00, classic room with one king or queen;
$129.00 for a select room with two queens or two double beds. This includes
one parking pass ($10-$15 value) per room. To book your room, contact the
Georgia Center and tell them that your block code is 87034.
In addition, we will be offering an exclusive pre-conference training by
the Fanning Student Leadership Institute on Friday, September 16th. For
those of you that attended Leadership Summit, a representative shared
information about a Leadership Curriculum that they had developed for use
with high school and middle school students. The pre-conference (9a.m.-4p.m.)
will offer training on this curriculum and provide you with ALL of the
curriculum resources! The cost is $200 and includes the curriculum
resources and lunch.
*If more than one advisor from a school wishes to attend the pre-conference
and will share curriculum resources, the cost for the second advisor will
be $150. Please contact me before registering in order to get the coupon
code.
