His Work
In 1936, Alan Turing created the idea of the TURING MACHINE! At the time the idea was amazing and new because no one had even thought of the idea of a computer. What the Turing Machine did was it was not like a computer we have now but instead it was a machine that you type letters or numbers into the machine and it would write it on a piece of paper that would be placed under that writing machine.
Later on, he also created the ENIGMA MACHINE! What the Enigma Machine did was it cracked the hardest codes that no one could crack in world war 2 when the Nazis sent codes of to the allies. One day, when the enigma machine had been created, the Nazis sent a complicated code, the Enigma Machine cracked the code and SAVED the world from the Nazis. We should really thank Adam Turing for our life now because if Alan Turing had not cracked that code then the Nazis could have won the war and we could all be speaking German right now.
Death
Alan Turing was found the day after he died by his cleaner on June 8 1954. There was a half eaten apple beside his bed. Proving he comitted suicide by cyanide poisining. His mother believes that he had accidently got some cyanide on his pple after the experiment he did on the same day. Which leaves us all questioning, Did Alan Turing commit suicide or was it by mistake?
