Important Information and Updates

Things are changing every day in our school, city, state, and country. We want to ensure parents, guardians, and students are kept up to date on the latest information. I hope that you will take a few minutes to read through each section and know that OFL is doing everything it can to continue to provide education to our students. While we transition to a distance learning format for the next few weeks, we hope you will have patience as we navigate the challenges and obstacles we may face during this period.
Big picture
As of today, March 20th, all events have been canceled for the next 30 days. That includes all sporting events, field trips, Pathways trips, and student appointments.

Dear OFL Families

March 20, 2020

As the week winds down, we wanted to remind you of a few important notes related to OFL’s transition to distance learning as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

You should be picking up curriculum and other materials from your child’s campus this week in preparation for remote learning for the next 30 days. Please contact your child’s teacher as soon as possible to arrange pick-up if you have not already scheduled an appointment. OFL campuses will have minimal crews on-site, if any, starting next week and, heeding the advice of public health experts, student/family drop-in’s will be discouraged as a safety precaution.

We encourage you to help your child prepare a space at home for productive learning. If you missed our last email with tips and strategies to ensure online success, you can view it here. While many of us are finding ourselves feeling isolated, it’s important to remember that we are a community and connection is key. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to OFL teachers and staff for help and guidance as your child adjusts to working from home. We’re here for you, and the wellness of your family is of paramount importance to us.

We would also like to remind you that there are still no confirmed cases of COVID-19 at OFL. We will continue to monitor the situation in our California communities, and remain connected to local health officials for additional guidance in keeping students, families, staff, and local residents healthy. As always, we will also continue to keep you informed of changes as they unfold. If you don’t already follow us on social media, please do so. This is another great way to stay abreast of any changes.

We wish you a safe weekend. Amid the unrest and while you make adjustments to school, work, and family time, we hope you’ll take a moment or two to remember how much love and support surrounds you.

Sincerely,

Opportunities For Learning Leadership

Sinceramente,
