The Japanese Internment Camps
Exposing the truth!
Internment
On May 15, 1942, all Japanese-Americans were ordered to go to Internment camps. While the government depicts the camps as very fun and comfortable, the reality is much, much different from that.
Claims vs. Reality
The Japanese had a great time staying in shape at the camps!
The government shows the Japanese having fun times at the camps.
Reality
The truth is that the Japanese had a horrible time and dreaded the camps. Here a woman is shown crying with her three children as they leave for the camps.
Volleyball
The American government tells us that the Japanese had only good times at the Japanese internment camps, playing volleyball all the time.
The Japanese were overcrowded into the camps
Here they are shown eating with barely any room to sit. They were forced to eat in very tight, uncomfortable spaces.
So why should we care?
The Internment Camps are an example of people being forced to move to a whole different world, just because of their race. If we do not recognize what happened and why it was wrong, it could easily happen again, which no one wants.
