What are puns? How do you pronounce this word?
Puns are a joke exploiting the different possible meanings of a word or the fact that there are words that sound alike but have different meanings. In other words it's a joke that has more then one meaning. Here's a few examples: "I applied for the server position but I am still waiting." "The builder couldn't put on his hat because it was too hard."(that's my own example) To pronounce it say PUH-UN

A pun can be a verb or noun. It depends on how you use it. If you use it as a joke then it would be noun. If it is used as a verb then it would be to make puns. An example of when you might use it as a verb would be, "I am going to make some puns for the comedy show." Pun is used as a noun or an intransitive verb in speech. An intransitive verb is a verb that indicates a complete action without being accompanied by a direct object. Finally here are all the derivatives of the word pun
