MOST RECENT MARKET WATCH
March , 2016 -- Toronto Real Estate Board President Mark McLean announced Greater Toronto Area REALTORS® reported a record number of home sales through TREB's MLS® System in February 2016. There were 7,621 transactions reported this past February – up 21.1 per cent compared to February 2015.
The number of new listings entered into TREB's MLS® System was also up on a year-over-year basis, but by a lesser 8.2 per cent. The fact that the annual rate of sales growth outstripped the annual rate of new listings growth shows a tightening of market conditions compared to last year. http://www.trebhome.com/market_news/market_watch/

Our good friend Rosemary Sullivan wins another great Award
Toronto author Rosemary Sullivan has been recognized with this year’s RBC Taylor Prize for Stalin’s Daughter: The Extraordinary and Tumultuous Life of Sveltana Alliluyeva (HarperCollins Canada). Sullivan was presented with the $25,000 literary non-fiction award on March 7 at the Omni King Edward Hotel in Toronto.
Sullivan, who previously won the Hilary Weston Writers’ Trust Prize for Nonfiction and British Columbia’s National Award for Canadian Non-fiction for her biography, dedicated the prize to Alliluyeva’s daughter, Chrese Evans, whom she described as a funky Portlandian and Obama supporter. “May Stalin roll in his grave,” she said.
