PRAIRIE POST
February 7, 2020
Message from the Principal
Hello Prairie Families,
Our learners continued to work on using positive language throughout the week in preparation for our all-school assembly next week. We will share the grand total for the number of times we heard students using positive language at recess with them at the assembly. We are also looking forward to Science & Engineering Day next week. Each learner will have an opportunity to participate in a variety of engineering design challenges and science experiments facilitated by students from the FLIGHT Academy at Horning. Check out your grade level newsletters for an update on winter conferences and watch for a school messenger email to come out from our office with additional conference information. The winter conferences are by teacher or parent request only. Our spring conferences will be for all students and families and will be in the format of a student-led showcase.
Have a great weekend!

PRAIRIE'S GOT TALENT!
Permission slips were due back on Monday, February 3rd. Please e-mail ptaprairie@gmail.com if you haven't turned in a form but would still like to participate. Practice will be Monday, February 10th, after school, until about 5 pm. It will give the kids a chance to practice the routine and walk through performing in front of the group. Next Monday, February 17th, we will practice in the gym so they can practice on stage from 6-7:30. I will also e-mail all performers using the e-mail listed on their form. Any questions, please feel free to reach out! Thanks to all the kids who got forms in. We have so many fabulous performers this year!
As we stated previously, we are in the beginning stages of planning Puma Palooza, our biggest fundraiser of the year. We are really hoping to make it a bang to add funds for our playground project! We would love to see new faces and minds come together to help plan the event. We are planning to meet before the PTA Meetings from 5:30-6:30. Feel free to join us! We would love to get new donations, funds to help support activities or even businesses supporting activities. If you have a company who would like to be at the event, donate to the event or have ideas, you can email us as well at ptaprairie@gmail.com.
