The 7th Grade Skinny
Repeat After Me: Two More Months......
For those of you planning end of year schedules, we want to provide you with information about the Semester Exams for 7th grade. There will be second semester cumulative exams in the five academic subjects (English, history, world language, math, and science), and they will weigh 15% of the overall semester grade as they did in the first semester. Study guides will be posted in May, and students will have time in class devoted to preparation in the two weeks leading up to the exams. The exams will take place during the mornings of the last two weeks of school: Wednesday June 1-Monday June 6th. The order of exams will be announced in a later newsletter.
For the last three years, the 7th grade has participated in a ‘culminating’ project led by the humanities teachers. This year, the 7th grade culminating project will take a turn towards aligning with our school wide commitment to service learning. The project details will be announced to students at the end of April. Stay tuned for more information coming your way at the end of April.
7th Grade Day of Service:
Each year, the 7th grade teachers and advisors provide the students with a retreat centered around service and leadership. This is designed to prepare them for their important roles in 8th grade. This year, our day of service is schedule for Tuesday June 7th and it will be off-campus. We will fill you in as we know more information!
