ChatterPix Kids

As I sat at my desk one day, I heard Mrs. Hyer talking about fact and opinion with her first graders, and I thought, "How could we combine this content with technology?" After I attended the iPad Users group meeting, I had my answer. Last week, the first graders used an app called ChatterPix Kids to record their opinion about a favorite book. They took a picture of their book, and recorded a short 30 second opinion on why they liked their book. Then, they used stickers to decorate their presentation before placing it in the gallery.
ChatterPix Kids from Duck, Duck, Moose is a simple, elegant, and useful app. It allows students to take a picture or use an image saved to the camera. With a swipe of their finger, students can draw a mouth on any image. There is one button to press to record, and the mouth then animates with the recording. Finally, students can decorate their presentations. There are several YouTube videos showing how educators are using this app with various grade levels.

How to Clear the Cache in Google Chrome

It’s a good idea to clear the Google Chrome cache every once in awhile. The Chrome cache pre-stores files like images and web pages that sit on your hard drive for faster access if you were to visit the same pages again or pages that have the same components. Having this data on the hard drive can be a privacy issue for some people. Here’s how to clear the data.
  1. From the menu button, choose History and recent tabs or press CTRL + H for opening the history tab directly.
  2. Click on Clear Browsing Data.
  3. The first box allows you to choose how long ago you want to delete items from the past hour to the beginning of time!
  4. Now, you can choose what to have deleted. When I performed this for our laptops, I choose browsing history, download history, cookies, and cached items. You can always choose less and delete more later if you are unsure.
  5. Then click on clear browsing data.
  6. If you have confusion regarding the above steps then you can simply press CTRL + Shift + Delete button and that should clear all of your browsing data.
