What is Botulism?

Botulism is a disease caused by eating a food that contains the boltulinum toxin.

Where does it come from?

Botulism can be found in soil or in low oxygen conditions.

What are the symptoms?

Blurred vision, drooping eyelids, slurred speech, difficulty swallowing, dry mouth and muscle weakness.

How to treat it

Severe Botulism may need intensive medical and nursing care. Also can be treated by a antitoxin.

How to prevent it

Keep food at correct temperature, Discard foods that are expired or rotten and wash your hands and keep cleaning area clean.

Who is most likely going to get it?

Anyone that does not follow the food safety rules.
