Field Day Updates
We will begin at 9:00 in the morning, rain or shine. Parking is limited so if you are able to carpool from somewhere that would be in your best interest.
We will have Field Day at the football field as planned.
IF IT RAINS
Field Day will be at the Windsor High School gym. To get to the high school you will turn onto Windsor Harbor Road. You will then make a left into the parking lot by the Jefferson County Sheriff's substation. Follow that road until you see the high school. You will enter the high school through the single door on the west side (or the side facing you as you pull up, with the baseball field and Central Office on your right). This is not a regular entrance; high school has given us permission to use this entrance as it leads directly to the gym. Please have ID ready, just in case. Someone will be near that door to help guide you as needed.
Please check our Facebook and Twitter pages for any updates regarding changes. That will be the quickest way for you to know about any change.
Character Word of the Month: Self-Discipline
This month students will focus self-discipline and what this looks like at their age. For many of our students, this will take the shape of studying spelling words during the week so they can play on the weekend, or not using their allowance to buy candy today so they can save up for the new toy they wanted.
As we know even as adults, self-discipline can be difficult! There are many great examples out there of self-discipline, especially in the sports world. You may be able to search out specific athletes that your child is interested in and learn about how they have had to discipline themselves to be successful.
Below is a link to an article with some tips on teaching your child self-discipline. You can also find more ideas on our website under our Character Education tab.
