It is our hope that this newsletter enhances the communication between school and home. Through this newsletter, we will share important information for the week ahead as well a friendly reminders/updates for upcoming events in the near future! Teacher Appreciation Week - THIS WEEK!
This week we will be celebrating and thanking ALL of our staff for their hard work this year during Teacher Appreciation Week!
As we shared last week, we would love it if our students could take a moment to recognize and thank their teachers and assistants for all they have done for them this year! To try and make it as simple as possible for anyone to participate, he image above breaks down the theme for each day! Participation is NOT required - and families are more than welcome to choose their own way to thank staff!
Rising 6th Graders Interested in Cheerleading
Just a friendly reminder for any rising 6th grade students interested in cheerleading at AMS, there is an informational meeting this Tuesday, May 3rd, at 6 PM at AMS. Please note that a parent/guardian must attend the meeting with the student. If you are unable to attend the meeting, please reach out directly the Ms. Carter. Her information can be found in the image above! All 5th graders received this information during their visit to AMS this past week.
5th Grade Muddy Sneakers - Final Off-Campus Trip FRIDAY!
Just a friendly reminder that our 5th graders will have there FINAL Muddy Sneakers excursion of the semester on Friday of this week! If your child has been bringing a lunch from home for these events, please plan on doing so again on Friday!
This is a RESCHEDULED trip from prior to Spring Break - and I would like to reiterate the expectations we have for our students while off campus. Please talk with your 5th grader about making responsible choices so we can ensure all students enjoy this wonderful learning opportunity. We expect all of our bullpups to represent themselves, their family, and oyr school POSITIVELY in the community!
JUST OVER ONE WEEK AWAY: Science/STEM Night - Tuesday, May 10th
Just a friendly reminder that our Q4 Title 1 Science/STEM Night IS JUST OVER ONE WEEK AWAY! Science/STEM Night will take place on Tuesday, May 10h, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM.
We encourage all of our families to join us in exploring science, technology, engineering and mathematics through engaging hands-on activities such as making magnetic paintings, testing pinwheel energy, building paper flying machines, and much more!
The event is a drop in event during the 5:30 - 7:30 window - however, we strongly suggest arriving BEFORE 7 PM so you can complete everything before we shut down!
Juneberry Ridge Summer Camp Opportunity for Select Grade Levels
We wanted to share this opportunity from Juneberry Ridge about some neat summer camp opportunities they will be offering this summer for our rising 5th and 6th graders - which would includes our current 4th and 5th graders this year! During the camp, students will learn about Juneberry production and have hands-on opportunities with plants, animals, and culinary arts!
Central Chick-Fil-A Spirit Night #2 - Thursday, May 12th
Like our Science/STEM Night, our second Chick-fil-A Spirit Night is just over a week away as well! Our 2nd Chick-Fil-A Spirit Night will take place on Thursday, May 12th, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM - and we hope we can replicate the success of our first spirit night earlier in the year!
May Kindergarten Readiness Calendar
For those with students who will be entering Kindergarten for the 22-23 school year, we wanted to share this MAY Kindergarten Readiness Calendar that has quick and fun daily challenges/activities to do at home that will help prep your child for starting school in the fall!

End of Year Testing Schedule
To help everyone prepare for the end of the year, I would like to push out the district dates for our EOG testing in grades 3 - 5. Please note the days and assigned grade level assessments below to avoid any appointment/scheduling conflicts. We will NOT be able to pull students from a testing environment, so please take the next month to reschedule anything that may interfere!
Weds., May 25th - Grade 3 ELA
Thurs. May 26th - Grade 4 + Grade 5 ELA
Weds. June 1 - Grade 3 Math
Thurs. June 2 - Grade 4 + Grade 5 Math
Fri. June 3 - Grade 5 Science + Grade 3 Read to Achieve
Tues. June 7th - Grade 3 ELA RETEST
