Words from our Principal

Crusader Families,

Thank you for a wonderful year! I am so proud of the many accomplishments of our students and I am looking forward to seeing the 7th grade students return in July as 8th graders!

Thank you to everyone who supported our staff and these students all year. It has been my honor and my pleasure working together to give our students the best possible experience during their time at BVM.

For some of you, this is goodbye. I wish our 8th grade students all the best in high school. I am confident they will make us proud as the incoming class of 2023!

Have a great summer,

Teresa Kramer

Congratulations Girls Field Hockey on their Metro Conference Championship!

Middle School Tennis Tournament

On November 3, 2018, the Sweetwater School District held a district-wide Middle School Tennis Tournament. BVM's Matthew Garrido won 1st Place and Walker Nelson won 2nd Place. Congratulations!

Spring Sing

The BVM beginning and advanced choirs performed in the Spring Sing at Southwestern College with the choir programs from Bonita Vista High School. For the finale, all of the students came together to perform a special song to honor our retiree, Ms. Kennedy. Great job, Crusaders!

Edible Insects

8th grade students had the chance to research protein sources as part of the Edible Insect unit. Students were presented with vegan protein options as well as sour cream and onion flavored crickets as part of the lesson. Thank you to the awesome English 8 team for making this possible for our students.

Community Outing

Mrs. Conlin’s class went out into the community to the IB pier and then to eat lunch at Subway. While out in the community, they worked on a number of functional skills. These skills include having appropriate social skills (greetings and manners), appropriate behavior while on the pier, staying with the group, waiting in line to make purchases, making selections for lunch, helping to load the bus, safety in a parking lot and appropriate behavior on the bus. Our Crusaders had a fun time out at the IB pier!

8th Grade Promotion Ceremony

This year's 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony was held at Otay Ranch High School on June 7th at 1:00PM. Congratulations to all our stellar students! Watch the ceremony by clicking on the video below:

Digital Citizenship

Everyone wants to keep their kids safe and healthy. One area that may get overlooked is the safety of our kids on the internet. Sometimes we just assume kids know the right thing to do. The best way to keep our kids safe on the internet is to talk to them about it. There are a lot of great resources available to educate yourself on the subject and make it easier to speak to your kids about. A few are listed here to help you begin to help your child develop safe internet behaviors
