Thank You Murfreesboro Breakfast Rotary Club
On October 28, 2015 Third Grade welcomed Mr. Jonathan Parrott and Mr. Adam Swanson from the Murfreesboro Breakfast Rotary Club. These gentlemen presented each student with a dictionary for their personal use. This year with our online assessments that require more writing, the dictionaries will be a wonderful tool for students to have as they build their writing skills.
We appreciate our community stakeholders for all they contribute to our educational programs. Thank you again to the members of the Murfreesboro Breakfast Rotary Club for their generous donation. We also thank Mr. Parrott and Mr. Swanson for making the presentation.

· Don’t forget to join the PTO if you have not done so yet.
Wee Deliver Begins
Blackman Elementary is proud to continue the use of an exciting enhancement in our writing curriculum. Wee Deliver is a curriculum program sponsored by the U.S. Postal Service to support writing objectives through a post office setting. Our children will be given the opportunity to write letters to others throughout our building. The great thing is that they will also receive letters from friends and teachers. Our students will also serve as the postal workers by sorting and delivering the mail. We are very excited and invite you to participate. Please write your child a letter and address it to them at their address (your child’s teacher has a directory). Simply place the letter in the orange postal box located in our school’s lobby or pass it to a staff member in the car rider zone. Our Postal Workers will deliver the letter.
We congratulate the Fifth Grade Students who were awarded Wee Deliver Postal Positions for this school year. Any Fifth Grade student could apply. Once applications were received, the applicants were interviewed, hired and given extensive training. This year the Wee Deliver Staff participated in a LIVE training at the Murfreesboro Post Office. After the LIVE training, Mrs. Slater-Troutwein, Murfreesboro Post Master, and Mr. Bryant, Acting Post Master, participated the Swearing In Ceremony for our staff. Each of the Wee Deliver staff enjoyed the real world experience.
Please start sending letters and cards. Your child/children will be so excited to receive mail from you.
