High School Counselor (9-11th)
Ms. Grijalva is a first-generation college student from El Paso, TX. She came to California on a scholarship where she played basketball, ran cross country, and played in the handbell choir at California Baptist University. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master's of Science in Counseling Psychology. She has a Pupil Personnel Services Credential in School Counseling from the University of Redlands. She has been a school counselor for 17+ years. She is passionate about helping students reach higher for more education or training through financial aid.
Middle School Counselor (6th-8th)
Mrs. Gonter attended Northern Arizona University where she earned her Bachelor's of Science in Education, receiving a Multiple Subject Credential. She also attended the University of La Verne where she earned her Master's of Science in School Counseling.
She started her career in SJUSD. She was a teacher for 32 years. This is her 6th year serving as a School Counselor at San Jacinto Leadership Academy. She is motivated to empower her students to reach their goals.
