A Note From the Teacher

We have had a busy but great week together. We read and compared three versions of The Mitten. Our favorite was the one told and illustrated by Jan Brett. We will continue to read more books from this fabulous author. Next week, we will also begin our unit on penguins and polar animals. Animals have a unique and interesting way of adapting to the cold weather sometimes very harsh environment.

For homework this week, I have sent home two "Home Links" with directions for math games that we have or will be playing in class. We have also sent number cards home with your child. Please take some time to cut out these cards and keep them in a plastic bag. You can use these cards to play the games. These cards can also be used to help your child practice identifying and writing numbers 1-20.

Thank you again for all your help and support! I hope everyone has a wonderful three-day weekend! We will see everyone next Tuesday!

Mustang of the Week

This week, Emily is our Mustang of the Week. Emily likes all the colors, doing gymnastics, eating spaghetti, and reading the book The Berenstain Bears Go To The Doctor. Way to go Emily!

We look forward to a new Mustang next week!
