United Against Hate Week is Coming!
Proctor Needs to be Represented at the Unity Poetry/Art Slam!
We need art pieces or poetry (written or spoken) to be presented on this day.
Art can be created in the form of a poster or other class art pieces that specifically speak to:
- Inclusion
- Diversity
- Unity
They MUST be turned into the DO by November 2nd!!
Lead teachers, please coordinate this effort with your grade level teams. We only need a few pieces from every grade level, including SDC!
Then please join me along with the whole CV community to walk together in unity on November 15th!
Building Capacity through the use of Illuminate!
Goal: Illuminate becomes a powerful data tool to help CVUSD educators score/analyze data, inform instruction, and make work easier!
Let’s Practice!
By June 6, 2019, Educational Services wants to support teachers, principals, and district office staff with the use of Illuminate in order to:
Streamline work around developing/scoring common formative assessment,
Use data results from common formative assessments to inform instructional choices for core instruction and RtI/PBIS tier decisions/interventions,
Collaborate with colleagues around shared student performance data, and
Easily produce reports for local formative and summative (SBAC, Science, etc.) assessments.
I will be working with the DO, and our school Tech Mentor Teacher (still confirming who this is), to develop PD that will train you to be able to access all the cool things Illuminate has to offer!

New Library Website!
The district Librarian presented the new Library website!! Wow! So many awesome resources to use in the classroom, or for your students to access from home!
Please take some time to review this site with your students, and use it as a regular source for them to access when researching various topics/subjects in class. It's actually much better than using Google with regards to school usage.
Supporting Newcomers in the Mainstream Elementary Classroom!
This is an excellent resource to help you support your newcomers, and low EL students, but they are great for all learners too.
