GENIUS AWARD - ZOIE EIBERT
Today, we are honoring one learner with our genius award. I do not hesitate for a moment when I say that this young lady enriches the lives of all those she spends time with. The only difficult part of writing this award was deciding which three life principles to recognize her for.
Zoie, would you please join me while I recognize you for your outstanding display of friendship, optimism, and effort?
I think I speak for each of our learners when I say: Zoie is a friend to all. Whether it was someone’s first day at Turning Point or it was through her daily interactions with our educators, Zoie was always generous with her friendship. And Zoie’s friendship is truly a blessing; with her sincere compassion, empathy, and generosity, she raised others up and poured her kindness into them. Throughout her time in our program, I watched as Zoie sought to include others and make them feel valued during our Genius Hour, lunch breaks, and daily walks. Zoie’s kindness was always quietly at work, building up her peers with encouragement when they needed it and offering them positive affirmations when school, or life, seemed to be weighing heavily upon them.
In addition, Zoie displayed optimism throughout her time at Turning Point. With her bright, infectious smile and positive attitude, Zoie began each day with the intention of making it a good day. Despite the adversity she has experienced in her life, Zoie has maintained her inner light and sunny disposition. She has displayed fortitude and chosen to be optimistic when faced with hardships or obstacles, and we honor her for that quiet strength. In addition to meeting deadlines and completing schoolwork, Zoie balanced personal responsibilities, such as taking care of her sister, and she did it all with a joyful heart and a broad smile. Zoie’s optimism is a reminder to us that there is always a reason to look on the bright side and to search for the good in any situation.
Finally, we would like to recognize the effort that Zoie has demonstrated during her time with us at Turning Point. When it comes to hardwork and dedication, I don’t think Zoie has ever taken a day off. She showed up each day and gave it 110%. Zoie’s consistent effort allowed her to successfully complete a grand total of 38 classes during her time with us. The way she approached every lesson in every course, day in and day out, was proof that she cared about her academic success and honoring her commitment to our program. Zoie’s commitment to do well was not always easy for her, but she never stopped trying and she never settled for giving less than her best effort. With her steadfast determination, Zoie pursued her goal to graduate early: and here she stands before you, a graduate.
Thank you, Zoie, we are all grateful to have had you here at Turning Point. Your friendship, optimism, and effort have inspired us all. Congratulations, and thank you for sharing your genius!
VP@C HIGHLIGHTS
TEAM MEMBER OF THE QUARTER
At each Celebration, the Victory Place @ Coppell tradition is to recognize those in our family who have excelled. Not only do students deserve accolades, but the staff does as well. At this time I would like to present the Team Member of the Quarter Award to a staff member who was selected by their peers. Would Mr. Mike Fitzgerald please come to the front? (wait for Mr. Fitzgerald to come to the stage)
Each day, Mr. Fitzgerald, displays the Life Principle of Diligence. Though having no direct experience in education, he has jumped right into his role in supporting all learners and educators on campus. In a short period of time, he has diligently developed his skill and understanding in many impactful areas and is fast becoming our go to guy on LanSchool, google docs and physical wellness. There is no task that he has hesitated to learn in order to be helpful.
In addition to Diligence, Mr. Fitzgerald displays the Life Principles of Compassion, Courtesy and Empathy. He is always looking to assist others with a kind and caring attitude. His words of wisdom and empathy and his concern for all, staff and students, alike make Mr. Fitzgerald a valuable co-worker and team member.
Mr. Fitzgerald has added a wonderful spirit to Victory Place @ Coppell. He values relationships and builds them with staff and learners, often accompanied with great humor. He is steadfast and here every day to help wherever is needed. He goes out of his way to make sure that tasks are taken care of and is willing to help wherever needed.
The beginning of the year brought on challenges that Mr. Fitzgerald took in stride, and he really stepped up in a big way (and he did it with a smile and a joke). He has truly contributed to the morale, efficiency, and needs of our campus, and we don't know what we would have done without him this 9 weeks.
Thank you, Mr. Fitzgerald, for everything you do each day to make Victory Place @ Coppell the positive environment it is.
