Dear RQMS Families:
Thank you for your continued support, as we wrap up the first quarter of the school year there are so many things to celebrate. This time last year, we all were learning to navigate through new ways of connecting, learning, and supporting students’ needs in ways that were never done before. Seeing students making connections with their peers while participating in clubs, activities, performing arts and athletics brings a sense of appreciation for the things not possible when connecting digitally.
While conferences continued to look different this year, we hope that you were able to make connections, review academic progress, discuss areas of focus, and celebrate growth. If for any reason you were not able to attend conferences or need additional support, please reach out to the respective teacher and/or counselor.
Recently, we communicated a disturbing trend that is impacting instructional time. As students returned to in-person learning, we anticipated a period of readjustment to the norms and expectations for behavior in school. We continue to focus on the transition from being fully connected digitally to being back in person. One area we could use your support and partnership with is stressing the importance of only using cell phones / electronic devices for educational purposes and utilizing breaks, lunch/recess time, our clubs, and activities for socializing.
Some members of our community have requested a little more time to return donation envelopes. Because of this, we have extended the deadline. Donations for entry into the drawing will be accepted until Wednesday, October 20th. All funds collected will go towards teacher appreciation initiatives. The drawing winners will be announced on Friday (10/22) during morning announcements. Thank you to all those able to donate!
We are all looking forward to new opportunities and growth in the months ahead. Excited to continue building on the foundation created in the first quarter, continuing our social clubs, activities, performing arts, athletics, and more. Thank you to all our athletes, their families, our coaches, and our club sponsors for making this possible. Congratulations to our ROYALS CHOIR and BAND groups on their first performances this week.
Best,
Trina Norris-Buck, Ed.S.

Parent Survey
To date, we have had less than half of our families respond. Our goal is to obtain feedback from as many of our families as possible if not all of you.
We believe in developing a strong partnership with parents and guardians to enhance learning. Our hope is that you will take a few minutes to complete this survey so that we can gather feedback on our school environment. Please help us understand what is working well and where we can do better for you and your student.
Homework Club
Every Thursday, starting on October 21st from 7:35-8:30 am, the school will be open for students who want extra help or support with their classwork. During this time there will be teachers and peer tutors available to assist students who need it. If you have questions, please contact Ms. Dinkel, Ms. O'Connell, or Ms. Knox. Students can sign up through their pathways class or by completing this form.
