Parking Lot Reminders
Things seem to be going pretty smoothly in the parking lot. Here are just a couple of reminders to keep things efficient and safe for students and staff.
- Cars may not block 232nd. If the drop-off/pick-up line is full then cars must enter the lot and park. Parents would then walk up to the shelter to meet their student.
- Students may NOT walk by themselves to cars in the parking lot, even middle schoolers. Please either walk-up to the shelter to meet them or pick them up in the car line.
- Students may not enter cars that are not stopped at the curb. They are not allowed to cross the pick-off/drop-off car line to enter a car waiting in the area where cars are driving.
- When waiting in the line, pull up closely to the car in front of you to allow more cars to fit along the curb. We are seeing more space which means fewer cars can fit.
- Remember that if you arrive at 8:40am or 3:30pm the line is considerably shorter and moves quickly.
Suicide Prevention and Awareness Meetings for Families
The Gresham-Barlow School District (GBSD) will host two informational meetings for families to share information about the District’s suicide prevention curriculum for students in grades 6-12. During the meetings, parents will learn about suicide warning signs and available community and school resources. Time will be reserved for questions at the end of each session. Sessions will be in English and Spanish. The same information will be shared at both meetings. Parents can attend the meeting which best fits their schedule.
