CVSD Preschool Lottery
The CVSD School-based Early Education Programs are now accepting applications for a random preschool lottery drawing for the 2020-21 school year. Our part-time, partial days, preschool classrooms are 5 STARs, licensed early education programs that provide play-based, developmentally appropriate environments for all children in an inclusive setting. Our curriculum is based on the Vermont Early Learning Standards (VELS) and Teaching Strategies Gold. We believe that a diverse classroom offers opportunities for adults and children to practice acceptance and compassion and also provides a broad range of learning experiences.
Our programs follow the CVSD school calendar. Students who will be age 3 or older by September 1, 2020, but not yet 5 years old, are eligible to enter the lottery for our programs.
All applications must be received by February 7, 2020, and are located on the CVSD website under Student Support Services. More information is available there also. Students will be selected via a lottery and families notified in February.

An Invitation From CVU to All 8th Grade Students
To 8th Grade Parents and Students of the Class of 2024
8th Grade Student & Parent Night
Champlain Valley Union High School
CVU Gym, Thursday, January 30, 6:30-8:00 p.m.
This evening will provide you and your child an introduction to the academic and elective programs they will experience in the 9th grade.
A Request From The Office
As part of our new electronic attendance system we will be taking attendance a bit earlier than in the past, so we ask that parents/guardians leave classrooms by 7:50 am. Students are marked as tardy at 8:00 and must stop by the office for a tardy slip.
If your child will be late or absent, please either call our attendance line at 482-2106 and press option 1 or send an email to hcsattendance@cvsdvt.org It is very important to let the office know if your student has any change to their attendance for the day. If they are sick, we ask that you leave a bit of information regarding their illness (i.e. head cold, fever, stomach bug, injury). Letting us know by 8:30 am ensures we will not call your contact numbers to inquire about their whereabouts.
If you need to pick your child up during the school day, we ask that you call ten minutes prior to your arrival time. We often have a rather large number of parents who would like their child dismissed a few minutes early and locating them at the end of the day can be challenging when it is just prior to dismissal time.
And finally, if you have a change of after school plans for your child, please either send in a note advising us of the change or call the attendance line (482-2106, option 1) or email before 1:30.
Thank you for your assistance.
