Mason Moose Minutes
January 4th, 2021
Dear Mason Families,
Happy New Year!!!! I hope everyone had a wonderful break. 2021 is here and our first day of school together in the new year will be in the face to face hybrid learning format. Monday and Thursday are Cohort A Days this week while Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday are Cohort B Days this week. Our goal/focus will continue to be steadfast on safety and learning for all. It goes without saying that we need your support with this goal. Please review the reminders below with your child before coming to school tomorrow (1.4).
Now that students are back to school in the hybrid model, the focus of our teachers will be on the students in front of them. Students who are learning from home are asked to complete learning through their online learning platforms (Lexia, Freckle, IXL, Amplify, Raz-Kids, Imagine Math, Everyday Math, Clever, etc...) and any assignments that are given to your child by the teacher. Thank you for your patience and grace as we continue to do everything we can to ensure your child's success.
Last but not least, if your child is feeling sick in any type of way, please do our entire community a favor and keep them home until they are symptom free for 24 hours without medication. Please complete the daily health checklist before coming to school daily. Please call the office immediately (and keep your child at home) if you or your child has been exposed to COVID 19 so we can discuss next steps. Thank you in advance for taking the extra precautions to keep our community safe.
Thanks for your time,
Dr. Bishop
Here are a couple of items to consider when you are preparing to come back into the school environment tomorrow (1.4.21).
- Mason Drop off and Pick up Map
- Parking Lot-The Mason parking lot is only for K-2nd grade families this year. See below for more details.
- 3rd and 4th grade pickup locations- Please review pick up locations with your child if you have a third or fourth grader. See below for more details.
- Drop off and Pick up Times- Students need to be at Mason in their teacher's line at 8:20 am sharp and need to be picked up at 2:30 pm sharp. Do not drop your child off before 8:20 am. Students will walk inside the building with their teacher at 8:25 am sharp.
- A water bottle - students will not be able to use the water fountain for water
- 2 masks with your child's name on them
- Technology - Teachers will let you know if your child needs to bring their device to school daily
- School supplies - Label your child's supplies with their first and last name to keep track of their belongings. Students will keep their school supplies at school in their desk and community supplies will not be available. Please let the office know if your child needs certain school supplies. If your child already has their school supplies at Mason from the last time we were in the hybrid learning model, no worries....
- Baby and Clorox wipes - Consider donating baby wipes and Clorox wipes to your child's classroom
- Tissue boxes - Consider donating boxes of tissue to your child's classroom
- Please label everything (clothing, backpacks, lunchboxes, snack bags, etc.) your child brings to school
- Students should not bring toys or recess items from home
If students bring hand sanitizer to school to keep in their desks it should have a cap that closes tightly and not have a strong scent.
