ONE BOOK, ONE SCHOOL DAY
Members of our band performing today
Our students!
One School, One Book
WE HAVE A WINNER!
We collected non-perishable food items in cluster areas and in the front lobby as part of our food drive. The drive was developed in line with our One Book, One School reading selection The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind.
Speaking of our drive, one lucky student will be attending this Saturday’s Red Sox vs Yankees game for bringing in over 5 donation items for a raffle ticket entry!
FBMS SPORTS TEAM- RUN,RUN,RUN
FBMS provides students with the opportunity to participate in fall Cross-Country and spring Track. All students are welcome to get involved regardless of their past sports participation. Many students who play other sports participate for the conditioning benefits of running. Other students join to make new friends. Whatever the reason, Cross-Country and Track are opportunities for students to get involved.
[Please note: Cross-country and Track are FBMS' only athletic programs. There are outside organizations of different sports teams on which some of our students play. At times, it appears that people refer to these as “the middle school teams". This is misleading as they are in no way affiliated with FBMS or the Marshfield School District.]
FBMS AFTER SCHOOL CLUB INFORMATION
Marshfield Recreation will be having their Fall Babysitting training course here at Furnace Brook starting Monday, October 22nd. The course will be on Monday afternoons in room 20, 6th grade Art, for 6 weeks. If you are interested, please register through Marshfield Recreation Dept. See Mrs. Newcomb-Baker if you have any questions.
The Book Trailer Tuesday Club is a free mini film school taught by the librarian with the support of MCTV (Marshfield Community TV). Using their state of the art equipment, students learn cinematography skills and how to be directors. Each student must sign a contract that includes the expectation that they shall be part of a trailer's production by the end of the school year. Each class includes a lesson or guest speaker, hands on implementation, and each student will share their progress towards making their trailers. The final product is posted on Youtube, the "Book Trailer Tuesday Channel".
See Mrs. DeLuca for more information.
