Charro Day Schedule Notice
Dear 2K-6th Grade Parents,
This is to inform you of the schedule for the Charro Day activities and programs at the Episcopal Day School. All activities will take place on Thursday, February 23rd. This is a scheduled early dismissal day by 12:00 noon. There will be no day care after the dismissal. We look forward to seeing you at the activities!

SCHEDULE
8:00----------------- Students report to class.
8:15-9:30 ---------- 2K-6th grade general rehearsal of Charro Days Program
for School. This rehearsal is for students only.
9:30------------------ Students return to class.
9:45-10:15--------- Little Red Wagon Parade
10:00-10:30-------- Parents enter Jones Hall to wait for 2K-5K program to begin.
10:30-10:45-------- 2K-5K Program for Parents
10:45-11:00-------- Parents enter Jones Hall to wait for 1st-6th grades program to begin.
11:00-12:00-------- 1st-6th Grade Program for parents
11:30 – 12:00pm----------------Dismissal begins
2:30 ------ 2nd Grade students are representing the Day School at the BISD Children’s Parade.
All parents and students are invited to come see the parade and support our float.
Individual photo opportunities will be available with James Hord Photography in the
Music Classroom. Group pictures will be available after the dismissal.
Charro Days Costume Attire

1st Grade Attire - Mrs. Reyes & Mrs. Villalon
Parents please provide the following:
Boys Costume: Charro
Accessory: Red Bow with Elastic
Shoe: Boots or dark shoes
Provided by Spanish Department: Sombrero - Hat
Girls Costume: China Poblana
Shoe: Black or White
Hair Style: Hair Up
Hair Accessory: Bow

2nd Grade - Ms. Ruby & Ms. Armstrong
Parents please provide the following:
Boys Costume: La Cuera, White Shirt & Dark Jeans
Accessory: Red Bow with Elastic
Shoe: Boots or dark shoes
Provided by Spanish Department: Sombrero - Hat
Girls Costume: La Cuera Jacket and White Shirt
Shoe: White or Nude
Hair Style: Hair Up
Hair Accessory: Red Bow

3rd Grade Attire - Mrs. Cantu & Mrs. Clint
Parents please provide the following:
Boys Costume: Eagle Shirt with Black Jeans
Accessory: Red Bandana
Shoe: Boots or dark shoes
Provided by Spanish Department: Charro Hat
Girls Costume: Polka Tamaulipas
Shoe: White Shoes
Hair Style: braids
Hair Accessory: 1 large or 2 medium

4th Grade - Mrs. Guerra & Mr. Martinez
Parents please provide the following:
Boys Costume: Viejitos – White T-Shirt with Shorts
Shoe: Sandals
Provided by Spanish Department:
Everything provided except sandals
***White tshirt with shorts will be worn under their costume
Girls Costume: Oaxaquena Huipil & colored skirt
Shoe: Sandals
Hair Style: Braided

5th and 6th Grade Attire
Parents please provide the following:
Boys Costume: Charro
Accessory: Red Bow with elastic
Shoe: Black Boots
Provided by Spanish Department: Sombrero - hat
Girls Costume: Adelita with bloomers (polainas)
Shoe: White Boots
Hair Style: Braided
Hair Accessory: bow (1 large or 2 medium)
Little Red Wagon Float Parade
Parents of Students in 2K thru 5K,
You are invited to decorate a standard red wagon to look like a miniature float for the EDS traditional Little Red Wagon Parade. Please mark your calendar and below are the details regarding the parade:
Date: Thursday, February 23, 2023
Time: 9:45 am
Location: Front Courtyard of EDS
Student Dress Attire: Mexican Charro Day Costume
Notes: Please label your child’s wagon with first and last name on the wagon pull handle. Drop off at the EDS Early Childhood building at the grade level designated area on Wednesday, February 22nd between 3:45-6:30pm. Pick up of the float will take place in the court yard outside of the Kinder Building Hallway. The wagons are pulled by the 6th and 5th grade students. Don’t forget your camera!
Restrictions: No pets allowed and children are to be seated while riding
