Working Conditions
Kids worked just as much as the adults or even more to make ends meat. They were exposed to mine dust and that's bad for your lungs. They had to eat their lunch as they would work and no breaks. They didn't wear any shoes. Instead of standing on the ground to work, they needed to stand on the machines to work.
