Mathematics Update
October 2022
Exciting Opportunity!!!
I am very excited to announce that we will be hosting David Henson from ESC Region 11 to take teachers on a deep dive into Desmos and all of the possibilities it holds for in class activities as well as creation of new item types. While Desmos is embedded for use on the 8th grade and Algebra 1 STAAR test, the activities already created apply to ALL secondary math students. Additionally, as a result of this workshop, teachers will learn how to create their own new item types in a digital format. If you have never heard of Desmos or if you have experience, this workshop will be a game changer for all secondary mathematics teachers! See the link below and register today!

What can online student activities really do? This session will explore Desmos Classroom and the free Region 11 Desmos Resources Collection that can enhance learning inside and outside your classroom. Did we mention it was free? Then, this session will leverage the customization of the tool to assist participants in building the new STAAR Item Types: Drag & Drop, Multi-select, and Graphing. How creative are you?
