Where you would work and what you would do
In a hospital, public health laboratory or research institute. In agriculture and the environment, you could work with water authorities, seed companies or local and central government.
Advantages of being a Biochemist
You have regular office/lab hours. You can conduct and lead your own experiments.
What you would be responsible for
If you were biochemical engineer you would be responsible for the development of new chemical products that can be used by a many companies and individuals. Your job would include researching, developing, documenting, and producing products that are derived from a combination of organic and lab-made materials that can benefit people and society at large.
Disadvantages of being a Biochemist
Requires 4-6 years of education. Strong or even better competition can lead to loss of funding.
