Reminders

PTO We would love for you to join Justiss PTO. The cost is $5 per family. The class in each grade level with the most participation will receive a popsicle party and each child of any family joining PTO will be entered into a drawing for a $50 Visa gift,


Snacks: We are in need of snacks for the classroom. Here are a few things the students like,

fruit snacks, crackers and cheese, peanut butter crackers, rice crispy treats, goldfish, fruit, chips, cereal, graham crackers, etc.. We have 18 students.


Breakfast starts at 7:10

Tardy Bell is at 7:40

When your child is absent, they must bring a note, or it will be counted as an unexcused absence.


** We are learning new skills everyday, PLEASE make every attempt to have your child at school if they are NOT sick.

This week in Math and Science

We will be reviewing place value, comparing numbers, greater than, less than, and number lines in our stations as we prepare for our Unit 1 test


**We will take our unit 1 test Wednesday, September 28th.


We will begin Unit 2 - Number Relationships. Students will recall basic math facts to add and subtract within 20. Use basic facts to identify the sum or difference of a given representation.

** We will talk about how to know if we are adding or subtracting in a word problem.


Words to know**

Sum - means to find the answer in an addition problem. -EX: "What is the sum of 5+9?

Difference- to find the answer in a subtraction problem. -Ex: What is the difference of 9-5?


We will use different strategies to find the sum or difference.


In Science this week we will discuss what a Scientist is, what are some science tools, and science safety.
