High School Student Survey
Student Survey
High school students will be surveyed this year by accessing a link through a Canvas announcement. The survey will be available in English and Spanish. The survey window is February 4-June 14. Westview will be delivering the survey on May 15 and 22.
Student Survey
Each year the District surveys students, staff, and parents to gather information for planning, program evaluation, and assessment of progress on the District's Strategic Plan.
The student survey takes about 20 minutes during the regular school day. The data gathered from the survey are anonymous; your child will not put his/her name or other identifying information on the survey. Like other surveys, results will be presented only about groups.. No individual data will be reported.
Student surveys of middle and high schools include three optional questions for students to identify their gender, ethnicity / race, and sexual orientation. These questions allow for additional levels of analysis of questions on inclusion, safety and bullying.
Your child may skip questions or stop filling out the survey at any time. Refusing to participate or withdrawing from the survey does not affect your child's grades or class standing in any way. If you or your child does not want to participate, your child can read or do some other activity while his or her classmates complete the survey.
A copy of the survey is available from your child's school and is posted at
https://www.beaverton.k12.or.us/district/research-reports
After reviewing the survey, if you do not want your child to participate, please notify <insert school contact information>.
Applications for the 2018-2019 Mayor’s Youth Advisory Board now open
The City of Beaverton invites youth in grades 9-12 to apply for a position on the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Board (MYAB). MYAB is an ad-hoc committee made up of 20 high school students from Beaverton area high schools.
The application can be found at www.BeavertonOregon.gov/MYAB. Application deadline: Friday, May 20, 2019.
MYAB was established to provide a voice for youth in our community. Students are selected by Mayor Denny Doyle to serve on the board. MYAB reports to the mayor and city council on issues of concern to youth. MYAB’s mission is to serve the common good of the community and provide a voice for youth in decisions and policies of the city. MYAB focuses on community service projects and promoting youth activism.

Westview High School's Second Annual Golf Tournament
Please join us at the second annual Westview Golf tournament at Rock Creek Country Club. This is a fundraising event dedicated to improving our school facilities and equipment. Last year we were able to raise enough funds to put a fence around our track which has helped with athletic events, PE classes, and safety as we replaced the cord that previously surrounded the track. This year we are raising funds to buy a utility vehicle to transport students if they are injured, set up events, haul items, and allow quick access to our outside facilities.
If you are interested in playing in the tournament you can sign up at tinyurl.com/WestviewGolf. It cost $100 per player and that comes with 18 holes, dinner, golf cart, entrance in the KP/Long Drives and range balls. We also hold a silent auction and raffle at the event. If you are interested in donating or sponsoring the tournament please contact Troy Christiansen (503)356-3056 or via email troy_christiansen@beaverton.k12.or.us

More than a Library CreationStation Campaign:
The library at Westview High School has developed a Creative Space for the students with a green screen, arts & crafts, games, and puzzles. We'd like to expand our offerings so the students can continue to create and explore during their time with us. Additionally, they would be more than welcome to use these resources when constructing projects for class: posters, art, collages. The dream would be to have all the materials available for everyone equally.
Would you like to help? Click this link to View our campaign. Please feel free to share on social media! Every donation is tax deductible, and we would also lovingly accept used/new craft supplies you have at home. Everything helps :)
