Spotlight on Student Voice

Mental Health Matters:

This week, some of our incredible leaders presented to the School Board! Chance, Torrey, Zoe and Holland presented their student-made documentary, ‘Mental Health Matters’. The film was created in order to destigmatize and create awareness around supporting youth in mental health challenges. We are incredibly proud of all of our students who participated in this project, showed their vulnerability, and demonstrated advocacy.

Full Send Retreat:

The Full Send Team reviewed the student responses to the Community Dialogue in December collected through the Google survey, and the student comments on the Thought Exchange in response to the Community Dialogue in February. Our next step will be to share our priorities, concerns and plans with the Leadership Team and agree on how to move forward.

UVM Outstanding Teacher!

Congratulations to Ralph Bernardini who is being recognized as the UVM Outstanding Teacher from VUMHS. Ralph is an outstanding math teacher and one of the strongest advocates for students at our school. He is creative, flexible, and puts student well-being at the center of his work. Mr. Bernardini is an excellent teacher who really cares about his students and wants them to succeed and be happy. No matter what he might be busy with, he will always drop it and help a student if they really need it. The Annual Recognition is a partnership between the University of Vermont and the Agency of Education. This year's recognition celebration will take place virtually on March 23 at 4:30. Please congratulate Ralph on this important recognition.
