HOLY ROSARY NEWSLETTER
Term 3 Week 8 - 7 September
FROM MARK:
Dear Parents and Guardians,
There is much to be thankful for. Merton reminds us of this. Two great opportunities for families are coming up - next Friday’s Athletics Carnival will be great fun and hopefully many of you will be able to join us! Then on the Sunday following the carnival we have our Art Show, in the gym from 2pm-4pm. A lot of people – not least the children – have been doing a great deal to make both these events come to fruition, and hopefully you will be able to swing by!
And… Mr Darby is getting married this weekend! Lachie we are just delighted for you and Jen, and we wish you both a wonderful, beautiful life together.
Have a great weekend!

MESSAGE FROM SCHOOL NURSE
Gastroenteritis
Gastroenteritis, or ‘gastro’ is a common condition in children of all ages. It occurs when the bowel is infected by a virus or bacteria. Symptoms include diarrhoea, vomiting, stomach cramps and sometimes, fever. Gastroenteritis, or ‘gastro’ is a common condition in children of all ages. It occurs when the bowel is infected by a virus or bacteria. Symptoms include diarrhoea, vomiting, stomach cramps and sometimes, fever.
Most cases in children are not serious, but it is very important to make sure that a child with gastro receives enough fluid.
If your child has gastro, keep them away from school for 48 hours after vomiting and diarrhoea have stopped. If symptoms persist see your family doctor.
The easiest way to prevent gastro is to make sure everyone in the family washes their hands regularly, especially before eating and after going to the toilet.

Pre-Primary to Year 2 students must also include their class number. Also why not forget preparing your own lunch and let us do that for you. Spectator orders must also have faction colours on lunch bags, or they may be picked up from the canteen at your convenience. Recess and lunch will be at normal times, so come and visit the canteen for a snack in the morning or an ice cream at lunch. All orders must be in by 9:15am at the latest. Please note: Recess orders MUST be collected from the canteen. Have a great day everyone!
P.S. It would be lovely if anyone could possibly relieve the volunteers working with me while their children are competing in events.

UFO CRAFT GROUP
On Wednesday 22nd Aug eleven of us gathered again to knit, crochet and chat. We have now handed on four rugs to St Vincent de Paul and Fred Symons tells us two have already found homes.
If still you haven’t cleaned out your excess wool, the basket in the church is still there awaiting donations. We have grown to about 20 knitters, some at home. If you are knitting for us at home you can deliver squares to the blue basket in the church entrance and I will collect them for the group to assemble. If you can’t knit or crochet we will teach you.
Next meeting Wednesday 12th Sept in the Parish Community Centre at 9.30am to 12.00 noon.
