Creating Future Focused Learners...

The ACARA ICT Continuum says...

Students develop Information and Communication Technology (ICT) capability as they learn to use ICT effectively and appropriately to access, create and communicate information and ideas, solve problems and work collaboratively in all learning areas at school and in their lives beyond school. ICT capability involves students learning to make the most of the digital technologies available to them, adapting to new ways of doing things as technologies evolve and limiting the risks to themselves and others in a digital environment.

Digital citizenship includes appropriate online etiquette, literacy in how digital technologies work and how to use them, an understanding of ethics and related law, knowing how to stay safe online, and advice on related health and safety issues such as predators and the permanence of data.

What is Digital Citizenship?

Embed digital citizenship learning across all curriculum...

Digital citizenship learning should be embedded across all learning in your classroom with short explicit sessions to introduce new concepts and specific skills. These are then practised and explored through the normal curriculum in your classroom.

Look for a balance between Skills and Thinking...A digital disposition!
