The Hunting Ground
Colleges will protect themselves before they protect their students
The documentary, The Hunting Ground, by Kirby Dick talks about sexual assault that happens on and off college campuses. In the documentary Kirby Dick doesn't agree with how collages handle sexual assault cases that are reported by their very own students. Sexual assault happens on a majority of college campuses and many of those colleges would rather not take action against the perpatrator.
Colleges will not defend their student victims
Many colleges spread across the country would rather sweep a rape case under the carpet rather than exposing it and fixing the issue. In the documentary Erica Kinsman thought she would get help if she reported her rape. After she reported the incident to her college professor and the police nobody reached out to help her, leaving her with out closure. Even with all the evidence she had against her rapist it still wasn't enough for them to take action against him.
