A Message from the Principal

Every Friday is a great time to celebrate being a Roadrunner. Each Friday is Roadrunner Red Day. Our students, staff and families are encouraged to wear red to celebrate as one big school family. When students feel connected to their school, they feel a sense of belonging. Roadrunner Red Days foster the feeling of belonging which positively impacts students academically, socially and emotionally. Have a great weekend and Go Roadrunners!

Roosevelt-McGrath Improvements Update

On Nov. 6, 2018, our amazing community passed a Bond to support Wayne-Westland Community Schools. Thank you! Roosevelt-McGrath will soon be getting a huge make-over. Construction will begin next month...February, 2023!

Roosevelt-McGrath Improvements Summary:

  • Secure entry and office integration

  • New Parking Lot additions

  • New Gym

  • Air conditioning

  • Playground upgrades

  • New paint/flooring/cabinets in classrooms.

Basic construction for parking lot additions and gym will begin in February, 2023. You will begin to see fencing being put up on the east and west side of the school. Your child's teacher will be sharing any changes to the arrival and/or dismissal process as a result of construction preparation fencing.

The estimated time of completion for all Bond projects at Roosevelt-McGrath is October, 2023. The construction will not cause any delay for the start of 2023-2024 school year.

Please join us at our January 24th PTO meeting in-person or virtually at 6 pm for more information about our Bond funded improvements or reach out to Mr. Watson with any questions: Watsonm@wwcsd.net or 734-419-2720

4th Grade Career Day-Using Beable

4th grade had a career day this week! Students chose careers that interested them through Beable. They researched the salary, job expectations and skills they needed to have to get that job. They mapped out the action steps to reach that goal in the future and wrote resumes for that job! So many wonderful futures are in our classrooms!
