Math & Reading Data Teams
- Weather keeps canceling our Wednesday common plan. Please make sure you are pre-testing, planning together for what kids need, post-testing, planning for what kids need, ..... When we finally have our meetings, everyone will still be on track.
- We are scheduled to have MATH data teams with your PLC coaches this week.
PD Plans & NEE Evaluations
- PD plans are due on February 22 for non-tenured teachers and for teachers on evaluation cycle: Katy, Jess, Morgan, Audrey, Whitney, Michelle, Mallory, Symone, Whitley, Chelsea, Maggie, George, Emma, Rachel, Alison, Kristin, Amy Ca, Laura D-W, Kathy, Shauna. This is parts F and G and the narrative for teachers. The counselor form for Whitely and the SLP form for Kristin.
- I have to get observations complete. Ideally, I don’t like to do these the day after snow days, days when there are changes in the schedule. However, I have to get them in. Please remember to come to see me the day after your observation for F2F feedback. Come during your plan or I am usually at school by 7:20 & stay until 5:30 most nights.
Walmart Orders
- Use this to plan ahead so you are not paying out of pocket for science materials. Please check this link which explains how to get your Walmart orders placed. You will need to plan ahead. Shipping is pretty quick but it is not overnight.
Last Minute AM Coverages
Many mornings there are a lot of changes in coverage overnight and early morning due to illnesses or emergencies.
Please:
- If you feel sick in the PM, call Kelly services. It's easier to cancel coverage than to find it.
- Continue to text me, Kacie, and your team when you call in or when you are running late.
- Also, if you need AM coverage send an email to McIntire News asking for help or have a teammate cover for you.
- Plan accordingly for winter weather or road work.
- If you don't have morning coverage or morning meetings, please watch for coverage emails and reply all to cover someone with a last minute emergency.
Coffee, Soda, Water
If you have not donated $10ish dollars, please pay to Debbie/Julia at your earliest convenience so that we can purchase the fridge and help pay for coffee and water while the soda fund builds back up.
Summer School
- Summer school will be held at McIntire this year. It has been a few years since we have housed summer school. We will keep you up to date so that you know how to prepare/pack your classrooms.
- Kacie and Holly will be the administrators for summer school.
- Dr. Crain shared the application link for certified staff on February 13:
- The internal applications for Elementary and Secondary certified staff to work the 2019 Summer School are available on the district web page under employment opportunities (https://fulton.tedk12.com/hire/index.aspx). This is for certified staff only, if you are interested, please fill out an application. Please note, it will still be a couple of months before the number of staff needed is determined, and they are hired.
- Summer School Recommendation Forms should have been sent home conference night.
- K-2 Reading - You probably want to recommend SS to - students with 1s on their report cards; students who are red on DIBELS (WPM - 2nd grade, NWF - K-1); students who are below the 50th percentile on STAR reading; students whose DRA is more than a semester behind.
- 3-5 Per state law, extended programming is “required” for anyone on a reading plan. So you would make the recommendation for BJB & summer school. Others you probably want to recommend SS to - students with 1s on their report cards; students who are red on DIBELS wpm; students who are below the 50th percentile on STAR reading.
- K-5 Summer school Math - I’d recommend for students below the 50th percentile on STAR & students with 1s on report cards.
~ Monthly Building Goal Update ~
McIntire students in grades one through five will improve their STAR math scores by 1.3 grade levels by May 2019 as measured using the Grade Equivalent on the STAR Math Growth Report.
- By February 15, the Grade Equivalent on the STAR Math Growth Report showed an increase in .8 grade levels for students in grades 1-5.
- This means we are a little behind the target to reach our math goal.

- By February 15, the Independent Reading Level on the STAR Reading Growth Report showed an increase in .6 grade levels for students in grades 2-5.
- This means we are a little behind the target to reach our reading goal.
McIntire Elementary will improve students’ learning in all subject areas by ensuring 90% of students attend school 90% of the time during the 2018-2019 academic year.
- Currently, we have 85.34% of our students attending school 90% of the time.
The number of students in grades K - 5 who have 0 to 1 office discipline referrals will increase from 76.26% during the 2017-2018 school year to 80% during the 2018-2019 school year as measured by SWIS.
- Currently, 89.12% of students in K-5 have 0-1 office discipline referrals.
