Virtual Character Assembly
Every month at Kolb, Character Awards are handed out to chosen students for the designated trait of the month. Next week, we will recognize students who most exemplified the character trait - RESPECTFUL. Since we will not be able to hold an in person assembly, this will be the process:
- Teacher selects 2 students per class to receive the award and notifies parents
- Student/Parent will pick up the certificate and awards on Friday, September 25 (see schedule)
- At home, STUDENT will take a photo of themselves holding the award in front of them
- Parent will forward that picture to Kathy Ng, (ngkathy@dublinusd.org) with student's name, grade and teacher name on the email by Monday, September 28.
- On September 30, we will compile all the photos of the students who received the award into a Slide Show to be shared with the classes by grade level.
- Exception: If your child receives an award, but you have NOT signed the permission for us to use their photo, their photo will not be included in the virtual assembly.
As we start our 7th week of Virtual Learning, we are noticing that there are still some parents who are visible on the screen during the child's class. While we understand that your support is invaluable, please know that it is against our policy to have you participate in the virtual classroom. That includes making comments, being visible, and doing your child's work. We know that they are still learning and need support, but please be mindful of your constant presence. Thank you.

Attendance During Distant Learning
DID YOU KNOW....
- You can monitor your child's attendance in your Parent Portal?
- You can set up alerts in Parent Portal so you will be notified if they are marked absent?
- Students are marked absent if they miss one or more group Zoom sessions?
- If your student misses a Zoom session due to technical issues, you must inform the attendance line (925) 551-4000 ext 2, and the teacher or else the absence will remain unexcused.
Attendance is a state requirement during Distance Learning
