Eugene Field Elementary School
October 11, 2015
Dear Field Families,
On Saturday, Oct. 17, the carpet in our library will be cleaned which means everything has to be moved out in the next few days. This is going to happen in stages throughout the week so I am asking all parents to remain out of the library unless you have to speak with Ms. April, our LEARNs Coordinator. Ms. April will also be relocated during the week.
I hope you got a chance to see our beautiful Tree of Life display at the Light Bringer stop during Pasadena Art Night last Friday. Thank you to our talented parents who guided the students in its creation.
On Thursday morning, our school will participate in the California Great Shake Out Earthquake Drill. If you see emergency vehicles at our school on Thursday morning, please do not be alarmed. Fire Departments often stop at schools to monitor the drills.
Please don't forget there is no school on Friday, Oct. 16, to allow more opportunities for Parent/Teacher Conferences.
Thank you for your continued support,
Do you have math skills? Are you looking for a way to volunteer? Do you know someone with math skills? We need coaches for our 5th GR Math Field Day Team. Please let me know if you are the person we need! (I accept sign ups for spouses also.☺ )

It was not hard to say goodbye to those old curtains.
The lights were a different story. They needed to be replaced, but the architect and I found a replacement that compliments the size and new look of the room.
This will be our new Professional Development Room for staff.

Storage Behind Serving Line
Most of these cabinets were empty for years.
Staff needed lots of space when they used to cook meals here. Our new kitchen is smaller with the loss of the unused space.
Unbeknownst to many, these tables were stored in the walls and had not been used for years.
Notice the table numbers still posted on the wall.
This part of history has been removed.
