"Oh! The places you'll go! There is fun to be done!' Dr. Seuss
We certainly had fun and silliness in Kindergarten this week. Our Morning Messages were funny and we have been greeting each other with rhyming our names in a silly way. At center time we created our own 3-dimernsional, colorful, wild "Whoville" paper sculptures.
We have started a chapter book called "My Father's Dragon" by Ruth Stiles Gannett. Each child has their own map of Wild Island which they follow as we read about the adventures of Elmer Elevator, the main character in the story.
In Math we introduced the penny and nickel and learned the symbol to represent a "cent."
Conversation Starters
* What was Dr. Seuss's actual name?
* In the story of "My Father's Dragon" who is trying to rescue the baby dragon and why?
* What does it mean to have a "green thumb?"
Poem of the Week
Today You are You
Today you are You,
that is truer than true.
There is no one alive
who is Youer than you.

Reminder
On Wednesday March 22nd Kindergarten will be celebrating "Wacky Wednesday." In the past children have enjoyed wearing their clothes inside out or backwards and/or wearing miss matched shoes and socks. We all look forward to a fun and wacky day.
Please keep the following in mind:
- Your child can be creative but safe shoes and appropriate clothes are necessary for outside time and PE.
- It would be best not to send your child in tights, because one art activity involves the children using their bare feet.
Thank you!
