Thank you

I am fully funded for my SA trip. And that's because of you.

30 days. 30 supporters.

This March, I will be traveling with a team from FUGEcamps to South Africa to do mission work, and I will do that fully funded. This is because in only 30 days, 30 wonderful people sacrificed for this incredible cause. Thank you--from the bottom of my heart. This is possible because of your generosity. Students are going to hear the word of the gospel, receive education resources they need, and be served by those who have been blessed in abundance and feel called to share that with others.

"Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations." Deut 7:9

Nerves, and how they were calmed by a sovereign Lord.

When I first began to pray about going on this trip, I was honestly so nervous. I was nervous about serving overseas again. I was nervous about the timing and missing a week of classes and work during my last semester at CNU. But honestly I was nervous most of all about funding this trip. I didn't think I had the connections or the boldness that fundraising something like this takes.

But the Lord said otherwise. He told me I was called to this trip, to act in obedience, and He would work out the details.

And He did. I made a simple webpage, posted on Facebook, sent some emails, and waited. And oh how that was difficult. Anyone who knows me knows that I like control. I like to know what is going to happen when and who is going to do it. But with this, I couldn't. I had to completely trust that the Lord would open the doors and He would provide the funds in His timing. And he did! Right down to the last hours, he provided exactly the amount I needed.

I still need your help.

You have humbled me with your friendship, support, & love. But I need you to continue to help in a significant way.

Pray.

Scripture calls our prayers fragrant offerings to the Lord. And I need that from you in the coming weeks. There is a lot to pray for, but here are some specific requests.

  • Logistics. Plane tickets, travel in country, classes, work schedules. All of these things need to come together in the coming weeks. Logistics can be messy, but the Lord is sovereign over those too.
  • Team unity and preparedness. Pray that our team is unified in country as we embark on mission, and that we individually take time to prepare ourselves spiritually to do the Lord's work.
  • Continued funding. Not everyone on my team is fully funded. We know that they will, because the Lord is faithful and provides, but pray for peace during that uncertainty. If you feel generous and led to continue to support this effort, my good friend Carly Miller still needs about 50% of her funding. If you would like, I encourage you to reach out to her at carly.miller.10@cnu.edu and she would be happy to tell you how you can support her.

Thank you again for your support. Expect continued updates as the trip approaches, and a full recap once we return in March. To God be the glory.
