Last Week of School for the 2021-2020 School Year
The last week of the school year is going to look a little different from the other weeks of remote learning. We hope that this plan provides a healthy balance between continuing engaged learning and providing meaningful closing activities for students. Our final week of school will be centered around 4 C's:
Conclude: it is the top priority for our students to finish up the learning and completion of assignments that have been given throughout the remote learning period. Your child's teacher(s) will notify you of any outstanding assignments that need to be completed. Students may use the last week of school to get support and submit these materials through May 22nd. In addition, your child's teacher may provide additional directions and activities for this week. Look for communication from your child’s classroom teacher regarding their plan for the last week of school.
Cultivate: if your child has completed their previous required learning, District 303 is offering a wide array of opportunities to learn and grow in areas and topics that inspire each individual student during the last week of school. To access these learning opportunities, click here. https://sites.google.com/d303.org/d303remotelearningforstudents/home
Collect: we know students have belongings that are still at school, so we have provided guidance on how families can collect their belongings before the school year is over. This information was shared via email this week and is shown below as well. If you have any questions about material pickup please reach out to your child's teacher or call the school office.
Connect: your child's teacher(s) will be providing an opportunity to connect through a live virtual session sometime during the last week of school. These meetings are a great way to interact with teachers and have a chance to say good-bye before the summer break. We hope you will encourage your student to attend.
You will receive specific communication from your child’s teacher regarding their plans for the last week of school, which will focus on the above-mentioned concepts. Thank you for your continued partnership, during both remote and in-person learning.
Take care, Have fun!
Mr. Jarot
Student Material Pick Up Information
The Anderson staff have been working on gathering your child’s personal items so they can be returned to you. These items include gym shoes, personal pencil cases, notebooks, folders, personal books, and all sorts of other items left behind. We have been working on a thoughtful plan that gets all of the items back to you while still keeping everyone safe through adherence to social distancing guidelines. Below are the details for picking up your child’s possessions.
- All of your child's items will be collected in a large clear plastic bag labeled with their Name, Grade, and Class identified on a sticker label.
- Families will be invited to "Drive Through" a material pick up lane at the back of the school. (Bus Loop)
- Large tables will be organized and clearly labeled with grade and classroom teacher's names.
- Student Material Bags will be arranged in alphabetical order on the tables.
- When you drive through, we will have staff members available to find your student's bag and place them in your car.
- Families will stay in their cars and all staff volunteers will be wearing gloves and masks.
- There will be various labeled bins for you to drop off any school materials. (Library Books, Classroom Book...)
- Students will keep their Chromebooks or iPad for the summer! :)

Student Medication Pick Up
Parents whose children have medications/medical supplies still in the school health office will be able to retrieve these items from Anderson Elementary School at the dates/times listed below.
- Tuesday, May 19 - 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
- Wednesday, May 20 - 9:00 AM -12:00 PM
Those with medications still in the health office will be contacted via email by Tuesday, May 12th. If you are unsure if your child has medication/supplies still in the building, please contact the Certified School Nurse, Anne McCann, at anne.mccann@d303.org to confirm.
Medication Retrieval Process:
Parents will pull car up in front of the front doors and call the health office at 331-228-3304 to let the nurse know they are in front of the building. To maintain social distance, please roll down a rear or passenger window, or open the car trunk. A nurse wearing a mask and gloves will then come out to place medications that are in a ziplock bag inside your vehicle. This process will work just like a grocery store pick up.

Parents of Incoming All Day Kindergarten Students!
All Students Need to Register for 2020-2021!
As of today, we have 163 students registered. Thanks if you got it done. If you haven't yet, you still have time to get it done before Mr. Jarot register's his own children for their school. :) The gentle reminders will continue!
Returning Student Registration for 2020-2021 has moved to an online format that will open on April 27. In years past, parents completed the necessary paperwork in paper format. This year, all acknowledgments and authorizations are contained in a single electronic, online registration form that will be easily accessible from most electronic devices (computer, Chromebook, and Smartphones).
Beginning April 27, parents can sign into the Returning Student Online Registration form using their Home Access Center (HAC) credentials, select individual students, and complete their registration. The form will be located in the Parents/Community menu of the District website.
Registration fees for elementary and middle school will be available in Pushcoin beginning April 27, and billed to reflect the early bird discount of $10.00 if paid by May 22. High School fees will be available in June. For families who may qualify for a fee waiver, and are not directly certified by the state, a 2020-2021 district fee waiver application will be available on the District 303 website in July, accessible from the Parent/Community menu.
2-1-1 is here for you!
