Fourth Grade "Kids Can Make a Difference" Project
Fourth graders ended the year by completing projects that showed that kids can make a difference. Ms. Harden's class discussed the issue of school safety and chose to show their support and appreciation for the School Resource Officers (SROs) and the work they do for our schools. They planned and put on an appreciation day for the local SROs, complete with treats, gifts, and a Question and Answer time.
Ms. Almonte's class discussed the issue of school cleanliness and chose to do a two-fold project. They planned and put on a poster campaign to remind the student body to keep the school clean these last few days. They also did a service day where they cleaned up the playground!
Wonderful job, fourth grade!
Third Grade Public Service Announcement Projects
Third grade students have been working on their public service announcements to teach others about the importance of water conservation. Using these videos, they hope to make a change in the lives of others across the world who don't have the same access to water. Way to go, third grade!
4th Grade Google Sites Project
Ms. Harden's and Ms. Almonte's classes also completed a Social Studies Literacy Reconstruction project. They created Google Site pages to explain how the interactive read aloud books they were given connect to the Reconstruction Era lessons from Social Studies. Check out their pages!

Education Tips for Parents
This game makes math patterns child's play
Improve your child's ability to recognize math patterns by playing the What's My Operation game. First, think of a simple math operation, such as "add 5" or "multiply by 3." Then, ask your child to say a number. Perform your operation silently and say the result out loud. For example, if you choose multiply by 3, when your child says 6, you say 18. Then your child says 4, and you say 12. After three rounds, can your student guess your operation? Now it's your child's turn.
