November Writers of the Month
Ms. Bolinski's favorite part of Grace Rzepiejewski's essay: What I loved about Grace's piece was that it approached a real issue that affects her. Grace's family runs baseball tournaments nearly on their own in the summer at Stone Bank Community Park. Her piece was a call to action for more members of the community to volunteer. Nice work Grace!
Ms. Bolinski's favorite part of Matt Puetzer's essay: Matt approached the topic of a vegan diet and it's benefits in an objective and well-researched manner. He showed a detailed background of motivations behind adopting this diet. With solid organization, clear research, and great voice, Matt's essay was a success. Write on, Matt!
Ms. Bolinski's favorite part of Avry Lindmark's essay: The cool thing about Avry's essay was that it explored the importance of sleep for students. It was well-researched. Avry analyzed each example to prove why sleep is so important. She also had excellent use of APA formatting and citations. You're a rockstar, Avry!

Geography Bee
In December, Stone Bank School immersed themselves in Geography! There were questions everyday for a week read on the announcements and posted around the school. The winning answers were raffled for daily prizes.
Each student in grades 3-8 competed in the school wide Geo Bee in their classroom. The top ten finalists competed on December 13th in the commons. These students were: Kjersti Warwick, Carson Rutka, Wade Lindmark, Myla Brunner, Avry Lindmark, Charlie Kubik, Ben Hartzel, Ty Malison, Nick Nelson, and Jackson Brunner.
This year's Stone Bank School Champion was Wade Lindmark (7th grade). Charlie Kubik was the runner up. Wade will take the qualifying test to qualify for the state Geography Bee. The top 100 students in the state will compete this spring for the National Bee.
