Important Information for You!
NWEA MAP Assessment & Data Days
Last Friday, I sent out the updated (for the third time) NWEA MAP Schedule. Please make sure that you have looked at the most updated schedule and noted the times. Parapros, please report to the library at 8:45 a.m. on Monday and we will determine the assistance for testing. Teachers, please make sure that you are working with the parapros to ensure that make-ups are completed as soon as possible.
Additionally, as shared, we will continue with Data Days as scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday. I realize that this means that some NWEA Testing may not be completed but we will proceed with all the other data points that you have. You should bring with you any completed NWEA assessment data, DIBELS, DRA, and all your curriculum assessments.
Report Cards
Report cards will go home with students on Monday. Please request that parents/guardians sign and return envelopes within a week of receiving cards.
DHS Graduation
Teachers received an invitation to participate in 2019 DHS commencement ceremony. If you wish to participate please complete the form that was sent electronically and turn it into Debbie by February 1st. Graduation is one of my favorite times of the year. It's always wonderful to watch former students walk across the stage and receive their diplomas. Graduation is on Monday, June 10th. I hope that you will consider!
Spending Cut-off
Due to last week's snow/cold days, I will extend your purchasing cut-off to Wednesday, February 6th. Please remember that this only applies to General Fund accounts, not your A-74 (PTO) account.
CAP Nominations
The deadline to nominate students for CAP has been extended to Friday, February 15. Please be sure to complete the teacher nomination form and send it over to Student Services before the deadline for students you are interested in nominating. If you have any questions about CAP nominations, please see me.
Cardinal Code Focus for the Week: Hallways
Given last week's snow/cold days and this week, please take some time to review the entire Cardinal Code Lesson for the Hallway. Some key points to remember and reteach are:
- Walking hip & lip
- Hip & lip, means you are not talking to your friends while walking
- Eyes forward so you can be sure to give personal space.
- Ensure that there are no big gaps.
February 15th Teacher Workday
Principals and teacher leaders have been hard at work planning the teacher work day
scheduled for Friday, February 15th. The focus for the first part of the day for classroom teachers will be on Literacy Essential #3 and the afternoon agenda is still being finalized so if there is a topic that you would like to see addressed/discussed/worked on, please let me know. This year we will be meeting at Siple. The day will begin at 7:30 am and end at 2:30 pm. Lunch will again be provided by building principals. Agendas will be coming out later this week along with room specifics and any supplies that you may need to be sure to bring with you.
