Play, Learn and Grow Together!

What We Did This Week!
This week was a busy one in 4K! We continued talking about pumpkins and leaves and we made a scarecrow craft that is hanging above our lockers. We were able to take a trip to the library to meet our new Library Media teacher, who helped us check out library books and read us 2 stories.
In Heggerty, we are focusing on putting two parts of a word together to make it one word. For example, happy is split into two parts: hap - py --> happy. The kids have been doing a great job clapping them together.
In Bridges, we are continuing to work on ABAB patterns and this month our pattern is Pumpkin, Leaf, Pumpkin, Leaf, etc. We started counting to ten, learned the number 6, and got to experiment with different work places this week!
In Learning without Tears, we worked really hard on the letter L this week. We practiced on whiteboards, Stamp n' See Screens, and 2 worksheets. By Friday they were able to trace their letter L really well. We also learned a song about the letter L by Jack Hartman. We are still working really hard on our crayon grip and how we hold a writing tool. It is fun to watch them correct themselves before I even have to say anything! :)
1,000 Books Before Kindergarten!!
This week we have read 13 books in the classroom!! Please make sure to mark off 13 spots on your child's tracking sheet. If your child has reached 100 books, please bring your tracking sheet in your child's folder and I will get them their prize and their new tracking sheet to 200!!
Illnesses
It's that time of year again! If your child is experiencing a fever, has vomited in the previous 24 hours, or is just not feeling well, please keep them home. At school we are constantly washing our hands and wiping down tables.
If your child is showing symptoms of illness, please call the school attendance line (608-862-3225) and leave a message.
