A Message from Principal Filippi
Good Afternoon Falcon Families! I wanted to send an update to our newly implemented initiative regarding non-academic priorities at Heights. As I mentioned last week, our two top priorities at Heights are our tardy students and respect towards adults in the building.
We began our Start on Time last Tuesday. All students not in class when the bell rang each hour were swept to the commons and escorted to class by an adult. We will continue to share our progress moving forward as we begin to clear the hallways and Start on Time!
No passes are being written during the first 10 minutes of class and the last 10 minutes of class. This is helping as we clear restrooms and make sure students are where they need to be. Students have been very receptive to this and are respecting this policy put in place by using their passing periods appropriately. Way to go Falcons! Remember - escorts are always available in an emergency situation.
Teachers have been asked to use a common language throughout the building to explain behavior expectations to students. This will ensure students are clear about what behavior is expected at what time. This is called ACHIEVE. If you would like to see an example please click here https://www.usd259.org/Domain/3185.
All adults in the building have been strictly enforcing the dress code regarding head coverings. Once again, students have been receptive to this enforcement and are doing a great job accepting this responsibility.
As graduate of Heights, a parent of Heights students, and the principal of Heights High School, I can call this my home. Each and every one of your children are my responsibility and will do whatever it takes to keep them safe and prepare them for the future.
As always, thank you for your support!

Revolution Prep Virtual Tutoring
Don’t get stuck on another homework problem again!
Get your child the help they need, when they need it.
On average, students sit down to begin their homework between 5:45-7:30pm, and 91% of students find themselves feeling stuck and needing help. When teachers aren’t available, and mom and dad aren’t home yet, where do they turn to for help?
Revolution Prep’s Homework Help gives your students access to tutor support 7 days a week. With over 30 academic subjects, they’ll always have access to someone who can help them. Unlike other homework services, Revolution’s tutors aren’t just going to give your students the answers to their questions. Our goal is to make sure learning is taking place, and to build confidence not dependency on the tutor.
