Chapter 8- Rock Bottom Resilience
Rock bottom: Job loss. Health problems. Difficult children. Difficult partner. Addiction. Depression. Death and many more events can make us feel that we have hit the bottom of complete hopelessness. How do we combat this? In this we will review the other chapters that we have discussed. Let's go back to our first chapter, first we have to " Flip the Switch" this means you are committing to looking at things differently. You then may have to look to your resources, what or who do you have in your corner that can help you through this? Is it a friend a family member, joining a therapy group or is it making that tough phone call? How can you get the help you need? Then you load up all of your feelings and use them to propel you forward. Put one foot in front of the other and keep telling yourself that you are worth it, your children are worth it and there is a way out. Often times it is when you believe that you deserve better that the opportunity to be better presents itself. Hitting rock bottom looks different for everyone, but everyone can find a way out... look for the opportunities and put one foot in front of the other. You deserve it.
Request to speak to your counselor...
